Domestic violence is more than just physical abuse. Abuse occurs when behaviors are used to establish and maintain power and control over another person. Some of the behaviors exhibited by the abuser are coercion and threats, intimidation, emotional abuse, isolation, minimizing denying and blaming, using children, using male privilege, economic abuse.
