Opportunities
Ways to Support HAVEN
Create or distribute posters, flyers, and informational materials, and help share upcoming events. Spread awareness by sharing our social media posts, following, and liking our pages.
Assist with planning and carrying out fundraising events or lend a hand on the day of the event. Opportunities may include helping with the annual benefit, popcorn nights, rummage sale, and other pop-up events.
Provide evening and overnight shift coverage as needed. This may include answering hotline calls and offering in-person support to shelter residents.
Support legislation that protects survivors and helps them access the resources and legal protections they need.
Help survivors get to important appointments or safely arrive at the shelter.
Assist with lawn mowing and seasonal landscaping cleanup and upkeep.
Provide hands-on help with minor repairs as they come up.
Help HAVEN keep its pantry clean, sorted, and organized.
Support our Youth Advocate or Craft Night during group sessions by helping with activities and childcare for younger participants.
Help a shelter resident transition into their own housing or transport household items by packing, lifting, or driving if needed.
Volunteers with mechanical skills may assist with basic car evaluations or maintenance, such as oil changes or tune-ups, to help survivors stay safe and mobile.

Safety & Training
To support the safety of those we serve, background checks are conducted based on the level of survivor contact in the role. Training will be provided where necessary.
